Purple Fastigiate Beech. Originating from Dawyck, Scotland this narrow columnar form of beech is a handsome architectural specimen indeed. Large deep purple foliage on upward growing branches from spring to autumn. Plant in sun or part shade. Deciduous. RHS AGM.
Dawyck Botanic Gardens in Scotland boasts a world-class arboretum where many specimens of Beech tree grow. Fastigiate means branches that taper naturally upwards forming a narrow column of growth.
